Bring back Saturn, make it a Model S/Lucid Air/i-Pace/Taycan competitor. Just imagine, the 2022 Cadillac Saturn EV. This will work, I promise. I’m not being held hostage by the Saturn Aura owner’s club. Just reiterating, that’s not happening right now. I’m here at my house and not a former Saturn-Saab-Isuzu dealership that’s been lying abandoned since 2009 and has been converted into a bugout bunker by a cult that worships plastic body panels and rebadged Vauxhalls. That’s not happening.

If a new Saturn doesn’t have 40 year biodegradable plastic panels made from corn than I don’t want it.

We all want our favorite badges back, but I’m not Holden my breath.

The only people who want dead GM badges back are the Olds.

GM should find a way to bring back the Cadillac name, as a competitor to Mercedes and Lexus, they could really use a luxury brand.

Oh, I don't know. They'll probably start doing that Asüna or later.

Don’t get me excited. The Saturn s-series revived as EVs would be incredible. It’s perfect. GM just needs to follow through with the idea this time.

I can’t believe Cadillac just stopped existing after 1970. They could make a real killing selling luxury cars.

T hey could have made an even bigger profit if they sold shit boxes at luxury car prices, though. Unfortunately for GM, people don’t want to buy luxury branded shitboxes at luxury car prices.

Honestly, I don’t know why Groupe PSA/FCA/ Stellantis doesn’t buy up the rights to the Saturn brand and utilize a brand with recognition in the US to sell rebadged Opel products here.
Take the Corsa, and offer it with either the 130 hp 1.2 turbo to compete with other subcompacts, or just send over the Corsa-e to compete with the Nissan Leaf and Chevrolet Bolt EV.
Hold off on the Astra until it gets a redesign that doesn’t use GM components, then offer what would likely be either an OPC or VXR version, sell it under the Red Line trim, and go after the Type-R, Golf R, WRX STI, and Veloster N.
Also hold off on the Insignia, until it (possibly) gets redesigned without GM components. Turbo AWD version to compete against the Kia K5, electric version to compete with the Tesla Model S.
SUVs come over pretty much like they are already, just rebadged and possibly renamed.
Revive the VUE name for a rebadged Mokka, with the Mokka-e becoming the VU-e, Grandland X becomes the revived Outlook.
And Saturn gets into commerial vans, with versions of the Combo and Movano...names to be determined later.

I’m not Rover confident anyone is getting revived Riley.
But I guess Wolseley what happens in the future.
Though it would be quite a Triumph.

I think people may have softened on Saturn with time and they may be ripe for a comeback as an electric marque. They do have the brand recognition as something different even when GM tried their best with rebadged Vauxhalls.

Pontiac

Good, because the local abandoned Saturn dealer is known for some real shady stuff going on and reports of cult like activity and possible sacrifices of GM cars on the pyre of plastic. I don’t want to risk checking i t out if you aren’t being held there.

I WANT A MODERN TOPAZ

I think Mazda already has that nailed.
Wait, you said biodegradable. Is rust biodegradable?

screw Saturn, bring back Pontiac.
also, as a Saab owner, Saab earned getting murdered by GM. fucking stupid ass fiber optic system and electrical issues everywhere

Too many of them have a Checker’ d past, but I have no time for Saab stories. They give me the Willys. I could Rambler on, but I get Tucker’d out.

I dunno, I think they’re Mosler gone for good.

Or maybe some Scion of a past car company exec.

I couldn’t think of one for Pontiac.
I did come up with “Geo fuck yourself” but couldn’t figure out a context where it wouldn’t be overly aggressive.

Eh, I don’t think Saturn really has that much cachet with the buying public. At this point, Stellantis could just start selling Opels here as Opels.

I d on’ t know, maybe you should Geo try it out and see.

I think that some sort of Imperial presence of dead car brand worshipers could really throw a Horch in the works. The whole International Geo political balance could get out of whack.

Or, as Dodge or Chrysler? Both of those have great brand recognition in the US and are all but dead. Right?

Dodge is still pumping out muscle cars at least, but Chrysler is dead brand walking.
